"Kate at Invigorate Acupuncture is great! She is kind, professional, accommodating, and very knowledgeable. She helped give effective pain relief where many other modalities have failed. I'd highly recommend her."

What To Expect During The First Visit

In preparation for your first treatment please fill out the intake forms through the patient portal.  If you would like us to verify your insurance information, please update this in the secure patient portal or call the office with the information.

It is helpful to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to make sure that you don’t have an empty stomach.

During your first appointment we will discuss your health history. Chinese medicine treats the person as a whole so questions will move beyond your chief complaint. For example, digestion, sleep patterns, and lifestyle will all be addressed if the main complaint is back pain. After an in depth assessment has been completed, a treatment plan designed to heal your chief complaint will be developed.

Treatment Plan

Treatment plans may consist of any combination of the following:

  • Acupuncture: insertion of hair-thin needles

  • Chinese Herbal Formulas: ready-made or custom combinations of herbs (depending on patient needs) tailored to treat specific ailments

  • Tibetan Herbal Foot Soaks: improve circulation and reduce inflammation

  • Nutritional Counseling: advice from a Chinese Medical Perspective

  • Craniosacral Therapy: a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to both relieve muscle tension in the neck, shoulder and head, while also circulating lymph and fluid.

  • Cupping: suction on the skin to relieve muscle tension

  • Guasha: literally translated as “scraping” this technique involves a rubbing motion on the upper back meant to release heat and break up adhesions

  • Massage: relieves muscle tension, while also improving circulation

  • Electrical Stimulation: a technique that sends current through needles that restores inhibited muscles while re-training them, decreases pain and inflammation, prevents slow muscle atrophy, relaxes spasms, calms overactive nerves and wakes up underactive nerves.

  • Exercises/stretches

I was recommended to Kate by a friend of mine who used be a patient when she lived in Tucson. I have been dealing with very painful back issues. I had tried everything chiropractic care, massages, self care and I had tried acupuncture before so I thought why not. I have been very impressed with Kate and her treatments. She is very thorough and each time I have been in I have felt so much better. Kate brought in Lisa to do body work after my acupuncture treatment and I can’t tell you how good that felt. These ladies are very talented at their craft and I would highly recommend them. The office is very clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. This has been a great experience.

Kate has helped me a great deal.  I came to Kate to help deal with pain in my knee and leg, and her treatments helped; however, I am also noticing that my anxiety is at bay. I feel so grateful to have found such a great acupuncturist so nearby!
